An Open Letter to the Friends of the Palestinians – translation of MIFF Norway article

Sometimes I read the pages to MIFF Norway (With Israel for Peace). And it seems I need to be there more often, there are some things that might be logical to some people and at the same time so hard to grasp for others. The leader of the organisation, Conrad Myrland, posted this a long time ago. But I thought I’d show how lame some of their lies are. So here’s a translation of the “An Open letters to the friends of the Palestinians”.

Luckily the Palestinians don’t have as bad a life as we think, and as nation Palestine has never been closer to sovereignty. As a friend there is one special thing you can do to help!

Firstly MIFF would like to congratulate you on your personal engagement to international affairs. There are simply too many in Norway who dont seem to care about everything that’s happening in foreign countries.

We have been watching the development to some of the countries next to Palestine, and we wanted to share some of our findings with you.

Number one:

The Palestinians luckily don’t seem to have as hard a life at some wants us to believe

Sometimes we get the impression that your friends live in the worst neighborhood in the world. Okay, sure they don’t live in the best place on earth, but as it seems it’s far from the worst.

The UN has different variables when they range the living standards in a country. Like life expectancy, level of education, gross national product per citizen and purchasing power. And with the sum of everything Gaza and the West Bank ends up on spot number 110.

To compare it with other Arab nations  that live right next door to Palestine the Syrians and the Egyptians gets spot number 116 and 112. They get better scores in all the main numbers when it comes to life expectancy and educational level than the average than all Arab nations. People from over 70 nations and areas get a lower ranking point than your friends.

These numbers are even more impressive when we know that your friends have chosen warfare against the next door country as their main strategy.

My response

Okay… I see this was a while ago, but let me give a response now. But I need to ask you if you’re serious when you’re asking about the average age in Gaza and the WB?? You don’t need to be a genius to know that if you kill of the children in an area, the average age will rise! And another example is that only last week you arrested 11 children in the WB and 10 the week before, and that is also a way to bump the numbers.

When it comes to education the Palestinians don’t have that many alternatives, the majority of my Palestinian friends are highly educated and many of them are because it’s giving them better chances when they apply for visas to other countries.

Have you asked yourself what the Palestinians are struggling for? Have you heard of something called FREEDOM at any level and all levels?

Secondly:

The Palestinians experience much less war than a lot of other societies

They don’t end up on the bottom on war or armed conflict ether, witch is the impression we often get in Norwegian media. The worst image might be the one we got in 2012, when 4 out of 10 equalized Israel’s actions with the Nazi’s treatment of the Jews during World War 2

It’s right that the Palestinians have experienced their share of suffering and conflict but these are far on the way or totally self-inflicted. We won’t take this debate here

But the fact is that there’s plenty of wars in the world that your friends aren’t involved in.

The map illustrates the world with the relative number of deaths increasing in color strength with amount in 2002 inside the area in compare with others killed in war in the rest of the world.

The map illustrates the number of killed from both Palestinian sides during the “intifada” and the total equals less than 1% of everyone killed in war in 2002. even if it was the most bloody year of the second intifada.

A Norwegian “Middle East” expert that’s been the voice for your Palestinian friends politics for decades, says that the new nation that was established in 1948 “might be the biggest moral dilemma of our time”.

We feel the need to ask. How many of the war casualties has happened because of that nation. the accusations is even more shocking when you see the same illustration map from the era 1945-2000.

So if you’re sitting with the impression that Israel is the worlds biggest warmongering nation in the world, maybe the reason for that is the crocked news broadcast or anti-Semitic propaganda of type, European or Islamic.

My response:

You might just see the 171 casualties 8-day offensive as the only act of war, but I see the other days too. throughout the whole year 265 were killed (excluding the 8-days) 141 of them was civilian. I’ll change perspective and look at the timeline 2000-2012 and we can see that 6986 dead Palestinians 5314 were civilians. This means that every the average of casualties every month is 48,5 Palestinians (This excludes the deaths that come as a consequence of the blockade)

But that’s not all.. Because I guess that if the resistance army in 1945 only killed the Nazis and left you hanging in the concentration camps, the war hadn’t ended. Gaza is smaller than Oslo and the population is twice as high. At the time they have been living under total blockade for over a year. Without the blockade they get ration cards, escort to healthcare clinics or other public service offices – but only when the IDF border watch has the time… I’ve even heard of pregnant ladies losing their child during birth because the guard’s shift was over. As if we can plan this before it happens.

At the same time Israeli prisons holds 4600 Palestinians incarcerated and over 480 of them are children from the ages 5-18 (most of the time their parents hasn’t been told where they are, and it can take up to 60 days before they get legal advice). The Military Court has legalized torture if suspicion of a national threat, and let’s face it…. if a man can get 20 years in prison for throwing a rock… than blowing soap-bobbles must be seen as threat to Tel Aviv. The children experience torture like rape and beatings and other methods that’s been seen on the news from Guantanamo Bay, and when the interrogation is over they wont get a doctor to give them a medical check or medicine if they are hurt or sick. I would actually like to see the TRUE number of deaths in Israeli prisons. I think the man that’s been longest in jail was arrested in 1979 as a SUSPECT for planning a suicide attack, he’s still waiting for a trial. By the way have they sentenced the people who burnt Mohammed Abu Khader to death, and his brother yet?

I’m not even gonna bother to respond to the Antisemitism, it should be criminal to support the things that are listed over.. It’s called anti ZIONIST to be against Israel, not Antisemitic.

The Palestinians get much more financial aid than any other population

If your friends aren’t on the best terms with it’s neighbors, the friends around the globe are many and they are giving. No other population receives the amount of financial aid as the Palestinians per citizen. The sums are often many times higher than the poorest and most embattled countries in Africa.

And Norway funds more to the Palestinians than they fund any other country in the world.

My response:

I almost got to laugh when you talk about financial aid. Didn’t you just ship 103.000 NKR to Israel earmarked bomb(s) last year? And not just that, there comes the settlers and kicks the Palestinians out of their homes without paying a dime for their house. You bomb their businesses and infrastructures to bits and pieces, force the children to leave school and than run them like slaves on your stolen farmland. And if that isn’t enough you’re gonna criminalize the people who denies funding this by boycotting your products. And financial aid?

America’s aid to Israel passed $121 billion since you started your raids, and during the time you’ve been able to develop the 4th strongest army in the world!! And dude…..if you shut of the water supply to Gaza, fill that water into bottles and sell them for Merlot prices… than Israel is getting the financial support from the international society, NOT Gaza!

When the Palestinians say they no longer want a two state solution i support them 200%. If a man lives in Holmenkollen and a hillbilly steals it and call it Rusketeigen, the people will always know the place as Holmenkollen, if they’ve seen someone jump the great jumping hill.

You got to known that over 73% of the people living in the mega-prison (concentration camp) of Gaza are actually not from Gaza, they had been ethnically cleansed from Tel-Aviv, Lod, Ramle, Ashkilon and the rest of the “israeli” cities.

AND BTW, the international aids is not to help the Palestinians but to clean the mess that israel creates every couple of years and take the financial burden of reconstructing the mess off the israeli back.

He came with more false allegations, but honestly I got so angry to write anymore at that point
